Diagnosis
Female: head short but wide, 2.6X as wide as long; lower frons with relatively dense short and fine setae; reticulation on frons arranged in a whirl-like pattern; antennal scrobes join at frontal suture; hair on eyes curved apically as in turbinis; prepectus partly smooth. Male: scutellum with raised and strong reticulation; mid lobe of mesoscutum with one pair of setae only (posterior pair). Both sexes: hind coxa with transverse striae; fore wing speculum missing or very small; large species.
